Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)

Welcome to a two-day workshop that will change the way you think, act, feel and believe, and give you all you need to know to start living your life as you choose to.

Why I should take a TAT® Basics workshop?
This workshop offers you the core concepts of TAT in a safe and friendly environment where you will get lots of hands on practice. If you are new to TAT, or have been using TAT for a while, seen the DVD’s or read the manual, there is nothing like having personal tuition in a group learning environment. Each group dynamic brings its own flow of energy, questions and learning, where you can share your experiences and learn from others. All the core concepts of TAT will be covered in each workshop.

What will be covered in the TAT® Basic’s workshop?
This workshop is designed to run over two days so you will have lots of hands on experience that ensures the applications for which TAT can be used are fully covered. This workshop is designed for the individuals own learning and healing, but will also cover how to use TAT with your family and friends. TAT is used for clearing emotional and physical patterns and problems that we hold. You will come away with peace of mind, feel relaxed and have a tool for working with life’s challenges.

After three days of using TAT for an average of 20 to 30 minutes a day - usually 10/15 minutes in morning and evening and then for 2 to 5 minutes a couple of times during the day, I experienced a very significant change in a state of almost continuous clinical depression. The first major improvement was in my sleep and next (within another 24 hours) was a state of calm energy and focus replacing the awful sense of depressed and stressful mental state and the exhausted physical and emotional state. (Although I still feel depression and stress for an hour or so in the morning and evenings when I am very tired, 90% of the day is about feeling relaxed, energised, accepting and peaceful) I wasn't eating for up to a week at a time. I wasn't sleeping likewise for up to 5 to 7 nights at a time. I was in no fit state to work for most of 2009 and was on sick leave certified by my G.P. for about two months in 2009 from February until April. I felt an almost continuous sense of physical nausea from the depression and had often drank myself to sleep as my only means of rest. Combined with a very stressful and deeply unpleasant job, I was really struggling badly and desperately needed to find an appropriate and effective therapy.

I had been diagnosed with 'endogenous' depression (i.e. clinical and not reactive depression) since the age of about 17, although I had experienced severe depression which went undiagnosed form the age of 12. I am now almost 41 and was on a series of anti-depressants and occasional tranquilisers and sleeping tablets. I had been hospitalised for depression and stress on 5 occasions from 1990 through 2006. I had done several cognitive therapy courses, had learnt meditation techniques and stress management skills but, while understanding the principles, found it very difficult to apply with any real consistent results.

I found TAT very powerful, but in an easy to apply way. I could apply TAT in several ways. Through the 9 step method or the 3 step method (when time was short) or simply by assuming the TAT pose and simply doing nothing for a minute or two. The crucial thing about how TAT has helped me is that the TAT pose creates a very calm and focused state simply by maintaining the TAT pose itself. I can verify from my own experience that no understanding of how TAT works or any conviction that it will work is necessary to benefit from TAT. (Although having read a lot of spirituality and quantum physics I did appreciate how TAT could work even though it seemed a too simple technique.) Similarly using the TAT steps was straightforward and didn't involve any emotional or mental conflict in terms of believing the validity of the process the steps involve. The process takes care of itself and the benefits happen without any conscious struggle to attain them. All that is needed is a little bit of discipline to stick to 10 or 20 minutes a day. (Since it is so restful and rewarding an experience anyway, it isn't difficult to keep practicing.)
