Sarah Bird talks about fear of flying and the service she offers to help people – Unravel Travel TV Planned a holiday or a business trip and already starting to get the cold sweats? If the very thought of flying fills you full of dread, you are not alone. In fact, it’s estimated that up to one in ten has a problem with flying.
It’s actually the second most common phobia – second only to fear of public speaking (which I also treat). For some, it’s mild anxiety, but for others, it’s a crippling fear that can prevent you enjoying that holiday break with the kids, or might even hold back your career if you can’t fly on business trips.
And if you do manage to brave things out and board that flight, your two weeks in the sun can be made totally miserable by the prospect of flying back home again.
It may be that you fear flying itself, or you might have an associated fear such as claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces) or acrophobia (fear of heights) – either of which can be equally problematic.
Most people who suffer from phobias acknowledge, in a rational way, that there’s no real danger, but the human brain cannot distinguish between real and imagined fear. So when you think about flying – maybe even when booking the tickets online - it triggers your fear response to some degree.
The good news, however, is that there’s a treatment programme that is 100% effective. Anyone who has come to me has now resolved their issues with flying and are free to enjoy the great big world out there, whether it’s for a family holiday, a weekend away with pals, an important business trip, or just simply experiencing the sheer joy of travel.
The proven techniques I use quickly and easily calm the fear response and change your reaction to the situation. The brain becomes calm and starts to send you positive messages. The latest scientific findings tell us that when we change our perception or beliefs, we literally change our chemistry or biology. In a nutshell, we can re-write the script to one which causes us no fear and no anxiety.
The techniques which you will learn come under the broad heading of Energy Psychology. It is often referred to “the psychology of the 21st century” and can change thoughts, emotions, beliefs and memories from limitations into positives in minutes. You can find out more about the techniques on the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) pages.
Typically, a programme of four treatments is required, but even after the first treatment, you can experience real change. And after you’ve completed the full programme, you’ll actually look forward to getting on that plane and jetting off to some far-flung destination.
I have helped hundreds of people overcome their fears, phobias and panic – so why not join them, and be free to live as you choose to in every moment of your life?
"Thank you so much for everything. I still can’t believe I went on a long-haul flight! After suffering from panic attacks, phobias and anxiety for 10 years, I had resigned myself to living a certain way and I really believed my fear was so great that I would never go on a long-haul flight again, the most I could manage was a short 40 minute flight to England and even then I needed drugs!
When I met you in June, I never thought I would be on a flight to America by 24th July. I thought that TAT and EFT was too simple and easy to solve a problem I had for over 10 years. But it did work within a few weeks, and my family and I went on a holiday of a lifetime - we had a ball, enjoyed every minute of it. I have a new outlook on life and I am so happy now and excited about life again because TAT and EFT have given me back my confidence."
